Historic Homes for Sale in Upstate SC
Mill houses, downtown Victorians and old farmhouses all survive across the Upstate, concentrated in the places that had money early — Converse Heights in Spartanburg, Augusta Road and North Main in Greenville, and the mill villages in both counties.
Buying old means budgeting for what old houses need: wiring, plumbing, foundation, and any galvanized or knob-and-tube still in service. Hire an inspector who works on period construction rather than one who mostly sees subdivisions — the difference in what they catch is substantial, and it is the difference between a renovation you planned and one you did not.
